Scoreboards
The scoreboard system is a dynamic side panel shown during Zentrix gameplay. It updates in real time based on player context. It surfaces key match info without opening menus.
What the scoreboard displays
The goal is simple: “what’s happening right now?”
Common information includes:
Player counts and match capacity
Countdown timers and match status
Current phase and time remaining
Kills, alive players, and team status
End-of-match results and winner information
Content changes automatically as the match progresses.
Context-aware behavior
The scoreboard adapts based on where you are:
Main server lobby
Waiting for a match
Countdown before the match begins
Actively playing
Match finished (win screen)
Players never switch scoreboards manually. Zentrix selects the right layout automatically.
Lobby scoreboard
Zentrix also has a Lobby scoreboard. It’s shown to players who are not currently in a match.
You can customize the Lobby scoreboard in settings.yml.
Game state–driven layouts
Each match stage has its own layout. This makes the current stage obvious.
Typical state layouts:
Waiting — join status, arena context, and player counts
Starting — countdown feedback and “get ready” info
Playing — live match data like phase, kills, alive players, and border status
Win — winner display and final stats summary
If you want the deeper model behind these transitions, see Game States.
Per-mode variation
Scoreboards can vary by game type. This keeps the UI clean across modes.
What this enables:
Each mode can have its own visual style
Solo vs Duo vs Squad can prioritize different team information
Faster or slower pacing can highlight different match signals
This page explains scoreboard behavior only. Customization details are documented elsewhere.
For how game types shape a match, see Game Type.
Update behavior
Scoreboards refresh frequently. They also react instantly to major events.
Expect updates on:
Players joining or leaving a match
Eliminations and team status changes
Phase transitions and timers
Win conditions and end-of-match screens
This keeps every player synchronized with the match state.
Why this system matters
Scoreboards reduce friction during fast matches. They improve clarity without spamming chat.
Key benefits:
Keeps players informed with minimal distraction
Reduces confusion during rotations and fights
Improves immersion and overall polish
Supports server branding and competitive play
